Health Science
Welcome to the Keller Collegiate Academy Health Sciences home page. At KCA all students are empowered to take courses that advance their medical knowledge. They have the opportunity to pick multiple different paths that will lead them to various medical certifications. These medical based certifications will then give students the ability to walk out of high school and join the medical workforce.
Medical Terminology Class
At KCA Medical Terminology is a foundational language course where students will learn how to speak to other healthcare professionals using medical words in a proper, professional manner. Medical Terminology will provide a Body Systems approach to learning medical language and students will have the opportunity to explore the language in a variety of ways. Students will apply this language in each subsequent course offered here at the Collegiate Academy that will ultimately prepare them for a career in the field of Healthcare.
Health Science Class
At KCA Health Science is all about getting a basic knowledge of health care procedures and preparing students for certification classes. Students will gain hands-on skills that will ensure they are certification course ready. Students will also put their medical terminology to the test as they engage in real life scenarios in the KCA Health Science lab. Students should expect to gain their first certification in HeartSaver Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and gain knowledge of first aid procedures along with many more health related procedures and topics.
