ATTENDANCE FORM

**New Process - Fill out for Absences or Early Release Request

Ra'Shane Hallman

Attendance Clerk

Reporting an Absence

Please use the form above anytime your student is absent.

How Do I Request an Early Dismissal?

Parents do not need to come in, you can use the form linked above to request an early dismissal.

You can send us the early dismissal request the evening before or the day of, but please give us at least 30 minutes to receive and process the request. We cannot process early dismissal days in advance. You can, however, let us know in advance if your student will be absent.

Please note we stop checking our form responses after 2:15 PM, if you need an early dismissal for a time later than that, please make sure to fill out the above form before 2:15 PM.

For emergencies, please contact Ra'Shane Hallman at 817-743-8041 or rashane.hallman@kellerisd.net. We do prefer emails over phone calls and will always respond to an email.

If the student returns to school after an early dismissal, they must sign back in at the attendance office with any necessary documentation (ie: doctor's note).

This is a closed campus, and students should not leave campus without a dismissal note. Students caught leaving campus without a dismissal note, even if the parent calls after the fact, can face disciplinary action.

Verification of Enrollment (VOE)

A Verification of Enrollment is required for obtaining a permit and driver's license. Per State guidelines, attendance will affect students receiving a VOE. Any student that was denied credit for a class due to attendance will not be eligible for a VOE.  Starting the 2nd 9 weeks of school, students who owe any seat time will be denied a VOE until seat time recovery has been made.

The Verification of Enrollment form takes up to 2 business days to process.  Please note: we do not send an email confirmation after you sign up or notify you when it is ready.

Please email Tiffany Madalone to request a VOE.

What is “Seat Time”?

  • In order to get credit for a class, students are required to be present in their classroom seat for 90% of the time.
  • Students may have 4 unexcused absences. Once a student reaches 5 unexcused absences, they must make up the seat time.
  • Seat time can be made up in various ways such as Saturday school or  tutorials. If a student knows he/she will have to miss school in the future, they can plan ahead and bank seat time the same way, through Saturday school and tutorials.

Seat Time is available using any of the following options:

  1.  Before or after school with a teacher.

  2.  Saturday School  hosted at Keller Central High School from 8:00 am-10:00 am or 8:00 am-12:00 pm.

  3.  In the Nest on the First Tuesday of every month from 3:20-5:00.
